Base yourself in comfort on the northern coast of the Cape Breton Island and bike the best routes in the Highlands National Park and the Cabot Trail. Spend three days cycling through quaint fishing communities, along rocky coastlines and through the national park forests. Let our guides help you choose the best routes for the day, with expert advice on how to get the most out of the Cape Breton weather. Take our full day guided hike to wild coastal meadows.  The route follows trails constructed by early highlands settlers. We travel over the densely forested highlands and descend into remote coastal valleys.  Whales, seals, moose and eagle sighting are possible. We visit the foundations of lighthouses and hear the stories of the people who lived in this majestic wilderness.

Join a guided half day sea kayak tour. The tour explores a pristine saltwater marsh and barrier beach. There are great birding opportunities; we learn about the endangered Piping Plover and how to share the beach with them. Mid tour there is a picnic of oatcakes and tea, complete with local shipwreck stories and legends. Single and double sea kayaks are available.  The tours start with easy instruction for beginners.

Go whale watching out of Bay St Lawrence. Cabot Trail Adventures partners with Oshan Whale Tours, a local family who has been fishing these waters for five generations and can show you the best of the Cape Breton Coastline.

Stay in comfort in your own cozy one bedroom cottage at the Markland Coastal Beach Cottages.  Included is a small kitchenette in your cottage, as well as a nice breakfast.  The Markland has a great dinning room, featuring local fish and produce.  You can stroll along the barrier beach, after a day of exploring the best of northern Cape Breton.
