Seawall Trailhead Building and Community Lunch
Date Saturday, August 19, 2017 12:00 am - Saturday, August 19, 2017 12:00 am
Visit the most northern village in Nova Scotia, Meat Cove, help build the Seawall Trailhead and enjoy a community luncheon.
Meat Cove, the Trailhead for the Seawall Trail, wants you to help us do some trail building. What does this entail? First, drive to Meat Cove where you will be treated to rugged, road-side views of the Highlands, St. Paul Island and the Atlantic Ocean.
Once you arrive in the tiny village, we want you to work side by side with local volunteers on our Trail. At the moment, the Trail leaves the Meat Cove Welcome Centre, glides along a stream through an Acadian forest to the edge of the ocean at Meat Cove Beach; we want you to help us make our popular Trail even better.
After the trail building is finished, we will gather at the Meat Cove Welcome Centre for a Storytelling Community Dinner. At this dinner, all trail building participants will be fed free of charge courtesy of the Meat Cove Development Association. Not only will you enjoy home cooked food, but there will also be stories shared by our volunteers.
Our itinerary:
Trail Building: 9am-noon- From Meat Cove Welcome Centre to the Meat Cove Beach. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to work.
Storytelling Community Lunch: Noon-2pm – Free for all trail building volunteers. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to eat, listen and laugh.
