Bay St Lawrence Fishing Derby and Crab Festival

The Bay St Lawrence Fire Department will host its 24th Annual Fishing Derby and Crab Festival on Sunday July 19th.
The festival is one of the longest running Crab Festivals in Nova Scotia.
Visitors will spend the day enjoying the water participating in the fishing derby.
Local fishermen try to ensure all visitors get to go out in a boat to do some fishing in hopes of winning the big prize. All children participating in the derby win a prize.
Everyone then follows that up with what is known as the best crab dinner on Cape Breton Island just up the road at the Firehall.
